Senior Electrical Estimator

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Senior Electrical Estimator to join our team and lead the electrical estimating process for diverse construction projects. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your extensive electrical experience and construction knowledge to accurately prepare cost estimates, develop competitive bids, and ensure project profitability. Your expertise will drive successful project planning, foster strong client relationships, and support our commitment to delivering high-quality electrical solutions on time and within budget. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to complex electrical projects across various sectors in the NYC, Long Island, and Westchester areas, utilizing your estimating skills to help secure projects in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Prepare detailed electrical cost estimates by analyzing project plans, specifications, and technical documents using advanced estimating software such as Stack CT, Simpro, Bluebeam. Manage client information using CRMs like FieldPulse and Simpro. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to develop accurate pricing strategies that reflect current market conditions and project scope. Conduct thorough quantity takeoffs for electrical systems, ensuring all components are accounted for in the estimate. Negotiate contracts and pricing terms with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure optimal costs while maintaining quality standards. Review project drawings and specifications to identify potential risks or discrepancies related to NEC (National Electrical Code) compliance and other regulatory requirements. Monitor project budgets throughout the bidding process and during execution to support effective cost control measures. Assist in developing bid proposals, scope of work documentation, and contract negotiations that align with company goals and client expectations. Support project management teams by providing accurate estimates that facilitate scheduling, resource allocation, and overall construction planning. Requirements Proven experience in construction estimating with a focus on electrical systems. Strong electrical background with hands-on construction site experience or construction management knowledge. Proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid; experience with Bluebeam for document markup is highly desirable. Proficiency in Simpro or FieldPulse and Microsoft Teams greatly appreciated. Deep understanding of NEC (National Electrical Code) standards, contracts, project management principles, and cost control strategies. Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing while fostering positive vendor relationships. Ability to interpret complex construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents accurately.
