Wastewater Operator

Wastewater Operator - Night Shift (6pm to 6am)The Wastewater Operator is responsible for ensuring the proper and continued operation of the wastewater treatment functions of the facility.Essential FunctionsPerform equipment checks on a daily basis and write daily reportsTake samples, check measurements, and prepare reportsPerform preventative maintenance and upkeep of all machines and equipmentMonitor and replenish chemicals for cleaning sewage as necessaryMaintain and update the plant log book and report any inconsistenciesMonitor and record boiler temperatures/pressures every 20 minutes throughout shiftMonitor and record results every 15 minutes while processing waterUtilize floor cleaning machinery throughout the facility to keep floors cleanEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent required6 months of experience as a wastewater operator in a manufacturing environment strongly preferredRequired CompetenciesMechanical UnderstandingDetailed Record KeepingExcellent Time ManagementGovernmental RegulationsStrong Mathematical SkillsRequired SkillsCommunication: Including active speaking/listening, reading/writing skills in accordance with standard business practices and decorumCritical Thinking/Troubleshooting: Using logic and reasoning to identify problems as well as the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problemsDetails: Must have attention to details for all areas of workComputer Skills: Basic knowledge of computers including Internet browsers and the ability to learn other programsEthical Behavior: Must maintain the highest ethical standards in the conduct of company affairs; must conduct business with integrity and comply with all applicable laws, regulatory standards, and environmental permits in a manner that excludes considerations of personal advantage or gainWork Environment/Physical DemandsThis position works in a manufacturing setting. This role routinely uses standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters and tape dispensers.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance on stair ways/ladders/elevated working platforms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
