About the Role Our client, a prominent player in the industrial sector, is seeking a skilled Industrial Equipment Technician to join their operations in Welkom, Free State . This role is essential for the upkeep and repair of sophisticated manufacturing machinery, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to safety. You will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, diagnosing complex faults, and conducting repairs on a wide array of industrial equipment. This is a hands-on position that requires dedication and technical expertise to support our client's production goals. Key Responsibilities Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and calibration of industrial machinery and equipment. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems failures. Interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to guide repair and maintenance activities. Install new equipment and ensure it is properly commissioned and operational. Conduct preventative maintenance tasks to minimize unexpected breakdowns. Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions efficiently and effectively. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.Adhere strictly to all safety procedures and regulations within the work environment. Assist in inventory management of spare parts and maintenance supplies. Collaborate with production teams to minimize disruption to manufacturing schedules. Requirements Proven experience as an Industrial Equipment Technician or a similar role. Strong mechanical aptitude and proven ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and manuals. Knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics. Experience with diagnostic tools and equipment. Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols. Good communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Relevant trade qualification (e.g., Mechanical Fitter, Electrician) is advantageous. Must be willing to work in Welkom, Free State and adhere to site-specific working hours.
