Dietary Aide

Prairie Maison, a subsidiary of Community Health Services, is looking for someone to help cook, prepare meals, and serve our residents during mealtimes. Part-time hours, including every other weekend and holiday.

Responsibilities as an Aide:

• Ensures all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
• Ensures the dining room is set up appropriately for all resident meals.
• Processes diet changes and new diets as received from Dietary Manager.
• Properly identifies each meal served according to resident diet and name.
• Delivers food to residents and guests in a pleasant manner.
• Food temperatures are to be recorded consistently on the appropriate form and action taken to achieve the proper temperature if not within established standards.
• Foods are held to maintain appropriate temperature.
• Makes sure portions are served according to the extended menu and appropriate utensils are used.
• Assists in daily or scheduled cleaning duties in accordance with established policies & procedures.
• Disposes of refuse daily in accordance with established sanitation procedures.
• Maintains a clean and safe working environment.
• Assists in maintaining food storage areas in a clean and properly arranged manner at all times.
• Ensures all areas of work station are cleaned, organized and re-stocked at the end of shift.
• Keeps supervisor informed of supply needs & reports malfunctions/breakdowns as soon as possible.
• Performs all job responsibilities in accordance with prescribed safety and infection control procedures, including thorough hand washing, use of disposable gloves where indicated and proper disposal of soiled materials.
• Knowledgeable of dietary procedures as well as related laws, regulations and guidelines pertaining to nursing home dietary operations.
• Other duties as assigned by the Dietary Manager.
