Systems Engineer

The Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of the organization’s server and systems infrastructure. This role ensures the reliability, security, and performance of systems and services including servers and virtualization platforms. The Systems Engineer works closely with network, security, and application teams to support business operations and technology initiatives. Hours: Monday through Friday between 7:00am-5:00pm. Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed. Participate in on-call rotation or be available for system support after normal business hours. The primary work arrangement for this position is remote; however, occasional in-office presence may be required for meetings or specific projects and support. The selected candidate must reside in MN or WI. Compensation & Benefits The annual salary range for this opportunity is $101,400 to $152,068, with a median salary of $126,734/annually. Pay is dependent on several factors including relevant work experience and internal equity. Salary is just one component of the compensation package for employees. Primary Job Responsibilities Project Planning * Participate in system-related projects such as server deployments, upgrades, migrations, and decommissioning * Assist with testing, implementation, and validation of new systems and services

• Support infrastructure modernization and continuous improvement initiatives
• Contribute to disaster recovery and business continuity projects

Communication * Work directly with business leaders to capture incoming requests and translate incoming demand into concrete IS deliverables and specific changes to the environment. * Proactively initiate, develop, and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external team members to achieve group goals and objectives. * Communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders * Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records. * Document incidents, changes, and solutions within ticketing and knowledge management systems * Assist in developing and maintaining operational runbooks and technical documentation Technical Support * Work directly with other IS technical resources and/or vendor technical support to troubleshoot problems and resolve application issues and * Provide tier 2/3 support for server infrastructure, including Windows and Linux systems * Support and maintain SFTP services, including user access, permissions, monitoring, and troubleshooting * Support virtualization environments, including application and desktop delivery, user access, and performance issues * Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity; identify and resolve issues proactively

• Perform system patching, upgrades, and routine maintenance
• Design and perform server and security audits, system backup procedures, and

other recovery processes in accordance with the company’s disaster recovery and business continuity strategies. Solution Design

• Design scalable, secure, and resilient system solutions
• Evaluate and recommend tools and technologies to improve system reliability

and efficiency * Help define standards and best practices for system configuration and deployment Leadership and Collaboration * Collaborate with network, security, and application teams to deliver integrated solutions

• Provide technical guidance and support to junior staff and service desk teams
• Participate in change management, risk assessments, and incident reviews
• Promote operational excellence and system reliability best practices

Other Duties

• Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed.
• Participate in on-call rotation or be available for system support after

normal business hours. * Perform fusion of cross-functional duties as assigned. Qualifications Required * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience) * 5+ years of experience supporting server and systems infrastructure Preferred

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Scripting or automation experience (PowerShell, Python, Bash)
• Knowledge of databases, DevOps or infrastructure and network architecture
• Relevant certifications (Microsoft, Citrix, VMware, Linux)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Experience with current Windows and/or Linux environments
• Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V)
• Experience supporting Citrix or similar virtualization technologies
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Understand general technical design specifications and architecture to

identify potential challenges with supporting the identified business requirements

• Excellent communication and documentation abilities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
