Practice Details
Black Hills Orthopedic & Spine Center of Gillette is seeking BE/BC Orthopedic Surgeon with interest in a hybrid general and sports medicine position.


• Schedule: Monday-Friday
• Shared call rotation
• 30-40 patients per day in clinic
• Mixed inpatient and outpatient care
Primary and revision total hip, knee and shoulder arthroplasty
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries, including ligament tears, fractures, and joint instability.
• Perform arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgical procedures.
• Collaborate with physical therapists, athletic trainers, and primary care providers to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
• Educate patients on injury prevention, rehabilitation, and performance optimization.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical research (if applicable).
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record system.

Job Description
Orthopedic Surgery Core Privileges include the ability to perform history and physical examination, admit, evaluate, diagnose, and provide pre-, intra-, and postoperative care and perform orthopedic surgical procedures for patients of all ages - except where specifically excluded from practice.

Qualifications
M.D. or D.O. degree.


Experience can be demonstrated in one of the following ways:
An applicant who has just completed a residency or Fellowship shall provide his/her residency or Fellowship log.
OR
An applicant who is not applying directly out of a residency shall provide a quality profile from hospital(s) where he/she currently has privileges showing his/her clinical activity for the past 24 months, including numbers of procedures performed morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications. The applicant must be able to demonstrate at least 200 orthopedic surgery
procedures in the last 24 months.
OR
If a quality profile is not available from the hospital(s) where the applicant currently has privileges, documentation of the applicant's hospital-based clinical activity for the past 24 months is required. The applicant must be able to demonstrate at least 200 orthopedic surgery procedures in the last 24 months.

More education and experience may be required the more advanced the practice becomes.

Successful completion of a hospital affiliated orthopedic surgical residency program or a clinical Fellowship of at least five years' duration accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada in the residency. Training at residency programs accredited by organizations other than the above may be considered by the; Credentials Committee; Physician Executive or Medical Affairs Committee; and the Board of Directors or the Board of Governors.

Certification by the appropriate specialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable. For those applicants that are not board certified at the time of application, but who have completed their residency training within the last five years; must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training unless appropriate governing Board (Refer to each entities policy for grandfather exceptions) waives such requirement.

Compensation
