About the Role
The Company is in search of a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to lead the development and implementation of enterprise cybersecurity strategies that safeguard the organization's people, data, technology assets, intellectual property, and business operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and executing the cybersecurity roadmap, establishing governance, and driving continuous improvement of cybersecurity capabilities. This role requires a leader with a strong background in cybersecurity architecture, engineering, operations, governance, risk management, and compliance, who can balance current operational needs with the maturity required to support commercial growth and regulatory readiness. The CISO will also be tasked with leading security operations, incident response, and ensuring the organization's cybersecurity practices align with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Candidates for the CISO position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least 12 years' of progressive cybersecurity experience, with a focus on leadership in cybersecurity functions. A CISSP certification is required, and experience in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or related industries is preferred. The role demands a strategic leader with the ability to communicate effectively with executive management, influence decision-making, and build a strong security culture within the organization. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing cybersecurity vendors, leading security initiatives in regulated environments, and supporting commercial-stage companies through growth and increasing regulatory complexity.
