Clinical Pharmacist

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join Overland Park Regional Medical Center as a Float Clinical Pharmacist. This role is primarily day shift with intermittent non‑day shift coverage as needed, providing comprehensive pharmaceutical services for hospital inpatients. The pharmacist promotes safe and effective medication therapy for all patients and provides oversight and leadership of the medication use system. What You Will Do Interpret orders and transcribe them into the pharmacy computer system. Accurately compound and dispense pharmaceuticals. Monitor drug therapy regimens for contraindications, drug‑drug interactions, drug‑food interactions, allergies and appropriateness of drug and dose. Suggest appropriate, cost‑effective therapeutic medication alternatives to medical staff. Sustain the hospital formulary, minimizing non‑formulary procurements, and utilize therapeutic interchanges and promotional drug therapy selection. Assist with clinical services such as drug consults, nutrition support, pharmacokinetics, anticoagulant monitoring, pain management, IV to PO conversion, renal dosing and other programs as defined by Pharmacy Leadership. Complete notification reports regarding medication errors and adverse drug reactions. Provide oversight of staff schedules. Qualifications B.S. or PharmD from an ACPE‑accredited School of Pharmacy; a Doctor of Pharmacy from an ACPE‑accredited college of pharmacy is preferred. Active pharmacist license in good standing with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy. State‑specific Medication Therapy Management certification. Minimum of 1 year of hospital clinical pharmacy experience or at least 2 years of general hospital pharmacy experience preferred within the area of focus. Completion of hospital PGY1 pharmacy general practice residency or fellowship highly preferred. Specialty BCPS certification preferred.
