The Department of Rehabilitation Therapies at the University of Iowa Health Care will be hiring a PRN Senior Occupational Therapist . You will administer treatment to patients with complex physical dysfunctions, disorders and/or injuries and interpret findings. You will be working in an inpatient setting. This position is located at our Medical Center University Campus in Iowa City.

Duties to include:

* Provide exceptional patient care, evaluation, assessment and treatment appropriate for patients with complex or specialized needs.

* Participate in the development of innovative clinical teaching activities to meet the learning needs of staff and students.

* Exhibit divisional and/or departmental leadership by:

o Serving as a clinical resource and maintain a high level of clinical productivity.

o Participate in clinical research and collaborate on special projects.

o Assist with setting and accomplishing divisional/departmental goals and assists management as necessary.

o Develop, implement and expand learning opportunities and skills development for staff & students.

o Assist in establishing new programs, as well as maintaining and developing current programs.

o Assist in the administration of the departmental Quality Assurance program.

o Participate in the development of service operations, policies and procedures.

* Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the public.

* Additional responsibilities as needed/assigned.

* On Campus: This position is performed fully on the campus of the University Medical Center.

* This position is: Commensurate PRN ( pro re nata )

* Work Schedule: As needed.

* Temporary: A staff member may serve in temporary status in a continuous appointment for no more than one year to meet an emergency or temporary need of the University. Employees in this classification will not be eligible for university benefits.

Required Qualifications:

* A minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy is required.

* Licensure in accordance with the Iowa Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy is required.

* 2+ years of experience in Occupational Therapy is necessary, with a high degree of understanding of patients with a wide range of possible dysfunctions.

* Demonstrated skills in clinical education abilities.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

Desirable Qualifications:

* 3+ years of experience in Occupational Therapy.

* 3+ years of experience in one or more assigned areas of responsibility is desired.

* Demonstrates leadership abilities.

* Demonstrates experience as part of a multidisciplinary medical team.
