A rapidly growing finance technology company is transforming how businesses manage accounts payable, payments and financial controls.

Its SaaS platform combines automation, intelligent risk detection and payments infrastructure to help finance teams reduce fraud, prevent errors and operate more efficiently.

Following continued customer growth and international expansion, the business is investing in its payments capabilities and regulatory infrastructure. This is an opportunity to build a compliance function that supports the next stage of growth across North America and additional global markets.

About the role:

As Head of Compliance , you will build and scale the company’s compliance function as it expands its payments ecosystem.

You will own the compliance strategy across USA, serve as the designated BSA/AML Compliance Officer and act as the primary compliance contact for banking partners, payment providers and other financial institutions.

This role sits at the intersection of regulation, payments and technology. You will work alongside Product, Engineering, Sales and executive leadership to enable responsible product development and sustainable commercial growth.

• 1st Compliance Hire at Payments Fintech with experience building and scaling compliance programmes

• Established banking and payment provider relationships

• Deep knowledge of BSA/AML, KYC/KYB, OFAC and US payments regulation
\n

What You’ll Do

\n
• Compliance Leadership: Define and execute the compliance roadmap across the United States and future international markets, while serving as the designated BSA/AML Compliance Officer.
\n
• Payments Oversight: Maintain compliance with financial crime, customer verification, sanctions, payment network and applicable licensing requirements.
\n
• Banking Partnerships: Lead compliance relationships with banks, payment processors and financial institutions, including onboarding, due diligence and ongoing monitoring.
\n
• Risk & Controls: Build controls, monitoring frameworks and reporting processes covering payment flows, fraud, financial crime, complaints and third party relationships.
\n
• Product Enablement: Partner with Product, Engineering and commercial teams to support new payment capabilities, integrations and market expansion.
\n

Qualifications

\n
• 7+ years of compliance experience with a strong focus on payments, fintech or banking.
\n
• Strong knowledge of BSA/AML, sanctions, KYC/KYB, data privacy and payments regulation .
\n
• Experience working with regulated financial institutions, payment providers or banking partners.
\n
• Proven ability to build and scale compliance programmes within a growing technology business.
\n
• Understanding of payments infrastructure, transaction monitoring, compliance technology and financial crime controls.
\n
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leaders and external partners.
\n
