Physical Therapy Assistant

Cetechs, a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to support the Physical Therapy Department at Weed Army Community Hospital (WACH), Fort Irwin, CA.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides physical therapy treatments according to the physical therapist's treatment plan
• Communicates with manager and other health care team members regarding patient progress, problems or plans.
• Administers treatment programs for patients.
• Evaluates abnormal conditions by reviewing physical therapist's interpretations of patients evaluations and test results.
• Records daily treatment notes, portions of monthly progress notes, and discharge summaries timely and completely.
• Performs therapeutic procedures by administering manual exercises and instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities, such as non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily-living activities.
• Reports any changes in patient status or needs to supervising therapists on a timely basis.
• Maintain patient records confidentially.
• Records treatment charges daily and completes charge tickets in accurate and timely manner.
• Complies with the California Physical Therapy Act.
• Supports and participates in department operations and development.
• Ability to use various clinical automation systems such as but not limited to Composite Health Care System (CHCS), Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA), Ambulatory Data System (ADS), and Defense Medical Human Resource System - internet (DMHRSi)

Qualifications and Requirements

• Must possess Associates degree from a college or university accredited by the CAPTE at the time the curriculum was completed.
• Current, full, active state unrestricted license to practice as a physical therapy assistant/technician as determined by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
• At least 1 years' experience as Physical Therapy Assistant
• Must be US Citizen
• Must Complete Criminal History background check
• Excellent communication skills written and verbal
• Strong Interpersonal Skills
• Proficient with Microsoft suit (i.e., Word, Excel)
• Excellent patient service and patient relationship skills
• Strong attention to detail
