Job Description Position Title: CO-CURRICULAR DIRECTOR/ADVISOR / CHOIR PIANO ACCOMPANIST Location: Henrietta Lacks Health and Bioscience High School, Vancouver, Washington Start Date: Immediately Position Type: Part‑time Salary: $17.13 to $3,064 Stipend Job Categories: Athletics & Activities > After School Programs Responsibilities: Responsible to Associate Principal in charge of activities. Must be able to attend all after‑school events, practices, meetings etc. Be responsible for all matters pertaining to the organization and administration of running the activity under his/her direction. Cooperate with the administration and fellow advisors to promote the best interests of the school. Maintain a positive relationship with students, staff, parents, and community by modeling respect, cooperation, and professionalism; recognize achievements and demonstrate sensitivity toward individuals and groups from all backgrounds. Conform to Evergreen Public Schools policy in ordering equipment and supplies for the activity. Keep records of all participants. Assume responsibility for conduct of all those who are participating in events associated with the activity. Assume responsibility for all those participating in the activity until they have left the building. Secure all building facilities before leaving the area. Conform to district policy to assure that students are not given keys to enter buildings when the advisor is not present. Arrange for cleaning, storing, and conducting an inventory of all equipment. Check arrangements for all transportation with the Associate Principal in charge of activities. See that facility regulations are understood and enforced. Maintain records of the activity and individual accomplishments. Qualifications: Valid Washington teaching certificate. Training and/or experience with the activity. Preferred training and/or experience with Professional Learning Communities and workshop techniques. Preferred experience in working with children and families who are culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities related to Cultural Competence and Equity: Knowledge/awareness of own cultural identity and how it influences behavior; desire to learn about the cultural identity of others. Nurtures a positive school environment that celebrates, respects, and values diversity; makes teaching and learning relevant and meaningful to students of various cultures. Initiates activities and discussions that increase cultural competence of staff, informing and expanding teaching practices within classrooms. Models instructional leadership and demonstrates a strong commitment to equitable outcomes for all students. Ability to recognize each person as a unique individual while celebrating their group cultural heritage.
