Nutrition Care Aide

Pay Rate: 16.15 - 20.06 Hourly

Position Summary:

Perform a variety of clerical duties in support of nutritional care and patient food service area. Ensure adherence to Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures. No patient care assignment.

Detailed Responsibilities:

• MENUS - Correct menus according to diet plan tally menus and prepare food production guide

• COMPLIANCE - Adhere and ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures objectives quality assurance program safety environmental and infection control standards JCAHO and other regulatory agency requirements

• RECORDS - Maintain and prepare various patient records to include labels cardexes and menus record diet changes and update changes accordingly

• PATIENT TRAYS - Prepare and distribute menus deliver patient formulas and trays according to schedule

• INVENTORY - Stock a variety of materials and supplies to ensure adequate inventory order supplies as needed

• COMPUTER AND PHONES - Operate computer to retrieve information answer phone calls related to patient nutrition care taking appropriate action

• INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS - Establish and maintain effective interpersonal business relationships with patients visitors physicians and all Hospitals personnel

• TRAYS - Check patient trays for accuracy

• RELATED WORK - Perform related duties and responsibilities as required

Qualifications:

Education: Not Required

Experience: Essential: 1/2 year (6 months) directly related experience

Credentials: Not Applicable/Not Required

Physical Conditions: Light Work

Working Conditions: Essential: Minor Hazard - physical risks dirt dust fumes noise

Tuberculosis testing is completed upon hire and additionally as required
