Assists in the repair of heating and air conditioning systems and components (e.g., pumps, motors, air handlers, fan coils, piping) to ensure a comfortable work environment. Assists with the installation of heating and air conditioning equipment and systems to provide enhanced and/or upgraded capabilities. Cleans air conditioning and heating units (e.g., coils, condensation pans, drain lines, cooling towers) to ensure units operate correctly and within safety guidelines. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; additional classes, certificates, or degrees associated with assigned work. Must possess knowledge and skills necessary to work with equipment and machinery. Must possess a driver’s license to travel to various sites within the district. Working Conditions: This position involves assignments throughout Orangeburg County School District. Must be able to multi‑task and adapt to changing work priorities. Assignments may take place outdoors as well as indoors. The job requires frequent standing, walking, use of hands and fingers, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and communication with others. May be asked to lift heavy equipment up to 100 lbs.
