About this Role Apis & Heritage seeks a hands-on Controller to oversee the financial operations of its funds and management company. This role is pivotal in managing fund accounting, credit facilities, loan servicing, and compliance functions. The Controller will report directly to senior leadership and work closely with the firm’s Fractional CFO. Instead of preparing first drafts, this role focuses on oversight, ensuring accuracy and compliance across various financial operations. The Controller will handle fund accounting and capital activities, such as managing capital calls, overseeing capital distributions, and ensuring general ledger accuracy. The role also involves loan servicing, credit facility management, and monitoring fund cash reconciliations. Additionally, the Controller will support investor relations, manage audits and tax processes, and provide valuation committee support. Responsibilities Prepare, review, and manage capital calls across all fund vehicles. Manage subscription line advances and repayments. Oversee all capital distributions and equalization calculations. Provide oversight of the fund administrator’s general ledger maintenance. Review and validate quarterly NAV packages. Manage credit line administration and loan servicing activity. Coordinate compliance certifications and supporting documentation. Review weekly fund cash reconciliations and manage accounts receivable/payable activity. Prepare and distribute regular credit statistics reports. Support portfolio company performance tracking and fund-level return calculations. Coordinate and support the quarterly Valuation Committee process. Manage the annual fund audit process. Partner with the Fractional CFO for tax call processes and regulatory filings. Review quarterly LP reporting packages and respond to LP inquiries. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 5-10 years of experience in accounting or finance. Experience managing capital calls, credit facilities, and loan servicing workflows. Excellent analytical and communication skills. Strong commercial judgment and ability to evaluate complex financial matters. Familiarity with private credit or private equity fund accounting is preferred.
