Position Overview Axis Engineering Group is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior GIS Analyst to join our team. This role is responsible for providing production GIS support while helping to develop, implement, and enforce company GIS standards. The Senior GIS Analyst will provide technical guidance to junior GIS staff, contribute to project planning and tracking, and play a key role in improving operational efficiency through innovative GIS solutions. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem‑solver with strong leadership abilities, a solid understanding of GIS systems, and experience supporting utility infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities Provide production‑level GIS support for ongoing company projects. Develop, implement, and maintain GIS standards, processes, and best practices. Provide technical guidance and support to junior GIS Analysts and Technicians. Assist with project tracking, scheduling, and resource alignment. Support schema development, deployment, and maintenance of GIS databases. Troubleshoot GIS‑related issues and provide solutions to maintain project timelines. Collaborate with engineering, construction, and operations teams to ensure accurate GIS data and mapping. Contribute innovative ideas and process improvements to enhance company productivity and efficiency. Potentially lead or supervise a small team of GIS Technicians and Analysts. Qualifications 3–5 years of professional GIS experience. Strong working knowledge of GIS software and data management practices. Demonstrated leadership ability and experience mentoring or guiding junior staff. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and remain mindful of project budgets and timelines. Understanding of utility construction methods and related infrastructure mapping. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
