Description Of Job As a QC Laboratory Analyst at Sumitomo Biorational, you will be responsible for testing of in-process and final products. You will schedule insects for testing and maintain the availability of materials needed for testing. In this role you must adhere to testing schedules to complete a high volume of critical work while maintaining data integrity and meeting manufacturing needs. Good documentation practices and the ability to follow and comprehend written procedures are required. Work Schedule Monday - Friday 5:00 am – 1:30 pm Essential Functions Bioassay testing of raw materials, in-process, and finished goods. Troubleshooting laboratory instrumentation and administering simple repairs as needed. Completing test records and data entry. Cleaning, calibrating, and maintaining lab equipment and instrumentation. Daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning as required. Performing calculations and evaluating insect bioassay results based on probit analysis using Microsoft Excel and a specified statistical analysis program. Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) testing in accordance with regulations. Preparation of standards and stock solutions. Maintenance of test methods and test procedures for the bioassay laboratories. Data entry within Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). Conducting and/or assisting with laboratory investigations and deviations. Rearing and maintaining insect colonies to a high‑quality standard as needed. Preparing insect diets as needed. Having flexibility to work some off‑shift, weekend, and/or overtime hours as required to meet business needs. Performing other tasks as specified by the manager/director. Preferred Qualifications HS diploma or equivalent required. BA in Biology, Entomology, Microbiology, Chemistry or a closely related field desired. Experience with Good Aseptic Technique. Experience with Good Lab Practices (GLP). Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) experience or knowledge is beneficial. Experience with insect rearing and maintenance of insect colonies desired but not required. Experience with bioassay methods desired but not required. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other spreadsheet/database software. Strong inter‑departmental communication (written/verbal) required. Individual pay is based upon location, skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
