To support patient financial needs, the full-time Financial Advocate will calculate personalized cost estimates, communicate patient liabilities, and assist uninsured patients with financial assistance applications, all while working remotely Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Key responsibilities Calculates and provides patients with estimates of their financial responsibility based on insurance coverage Requests upfront payments and establishes payment arrangements for self-pay amounts Interviews uninsured patients to assess financial needs and coordinates assistance programs Required qualifications High School Graduate or GED/HSED Typically requires 2 years of experience in Patient Access, healthcare, or customer service Basic medical coding knowledge Solid understanding of insurance operations related to denials and appeals processes Ability to articulate HIPAA and EMTALA regulations in patient interactions
