Full-Time Cardiology Nurse Practitioner at Silver Stream Wellness Medical Center

Position Overview

Silver Stream Wellness Medical Center is actively looking for a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our cardiology team in Brooklyn, New York. This full-time position focuses on providing exceptional outpatient care within the Recovering Hope Care Center, under the guidance of our Chief Nurse Practitioner and Medical Director. The NP will play a pivotal role in managing various cardiology conditions and contributing positively to patient health outcomes.

Work Environment

This role is primarily onsite, allowing for direct interaction with patients and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, including cardiologists, registered nurses, and administrative professionals. The working hours are Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM; no calls, nights, or weekends are required. This supportive environment enables NPs to thrive while focusing solely on patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cardiologists to deliver high-quality patient care, including performing thorough history taking and physical examinations.
• Manage chronic conditions such as hypertension, high cholesterol, coronary artery disease, and peripheral artery disease through evidence-based approaches.
• Provide specialized outpatient Electrophysiology services to patients with arrhythmias and other abnormalities noted on electrocardiograms.
• Conduct stress testing and interpret results to aid in the diagnosis and treatment plans of cardiovascular conditions.
• Monitor and manage patients with acute heart conditions, including congestive heart failure and transient ischemic attacks, offering comprehensive treatment strategies.
• Prescribe medications as appropriate based on patient needs or as directed, ensuring optimal dosing and adherence.
• Facilitate referrals to other specialists within our medical group, assisting in the continuity of care for complex cases.
• Provide education to patients and their families regarding disease processes, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications for better heart health.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay updated with advancements in cardiology care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Nurse Practitioner will cater to a diverse patient population, ranging from young adults to elderly individuals, each presenting various cardiac challenges. The role involves building meaningful patient relationships and tailored care plans that enhance overall health and quality of life.

Qualifications

• A valid and current Nurse Practitioner license to practice in New York State.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing; candidates with a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing will be given preference.
• Successful completion of an accredited nurse practitioner program with a focus relevant to cardiology.
• Certification in cardiovascular nursing or relevant advanced practice certification preferred.

Preferred Experience

We welcome applications from both seasoned Nurse Practitioners and recent graduates with clinical exposure to cardiology in either inpatient or outpatient settings. Experience in managing cardiac patients is highly advantageous, as it will enhance the candidate's contributions to our specialized team.

Compensation and Benefits

This role offers a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 160,000 to 180,000 based on experience and qualifications. Additionally, team members are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
