• Collaborate with product, design and clinical teams to translate requirements into technical designs and reliable deliverables.
• Implement secure development practices to protect PHI and support HIPAA compliance when working in healthcare contexts.
• Integrate AI capabilities such as LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and agentic AI components into products, evaluating trade-offs and safety considerations.
• Own code quality through unit and integration tests, code reviews, pair programming, and continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines.
• Mentor and coach mid-level and junior engineers, set technical direction, and promote engineering best practices and documentation.
• Investigate and resolve production issues, perform capacity planning, and participate in on-call rotation as needed.
• Drive technical evaluations, proof-of-concepts and vendor selection for AI, data and platform components.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a track record of delivering production systems.
• Experience working with SQL databases and designing efficient data models and queries.
• Familiarity with healthcare domain concepts and regulatory requirements (HIPAA) is highly desirable.
• Experience integrating AI/ML tooling and LLMs into applications; knowledge of RAG patterns and agentic AI approaches is a plus.
• Solid understanding of secure coding practices, authentication/authorization patterns, and data privacy principles.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and debugging production systems.
