We are looking for a senior accountant on a contract basis.   

Job Summary:  

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join its growing accounting team. This position will play a key role in supporting day-to-day accounting operations with a primary focus on cash accounting, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting accuracy. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills and be comfortable working in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and record daily and monthly cash journal entries in accordance with company accounting policies.
• Perform bank reconciliations and investigate/resolution of reconciling items to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain the general ledger and support the integrity of financial records.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and analyze account activity to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Support fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, depreciation, and reconciliations, as needed.
• Assist with specialized reconciliations and other accounting projects based on business needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve accounting processes and ensure timely reporting.
• Support internal and external audit requests by providing documentation and account analysis.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in a Senior Accountant or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of journal entries, general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
• Experience performing bank reconciliations and cash accounting functions.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis.
• Experience with fixed assets is preferred, and industry-specific accounting experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
