Job Overview We are looking for an experienced Java Engineer to join our client's team in Phoenix, AZ. The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of internet-scale solution development experience, with deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and NoSQL databases. You will contribute to building reactive, cloud-native microservices in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Job Overview We are looking for an experienced Java Engineer to join our client's team in Phoenix, AZ. The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of internet-scale solution development experience, with deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and NoSQL databases. You will contribute to building reactive, cloud-native microservices in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable, reactive microservices using Java and Spring Boot
- Build and maintain REST APIs using Spring Boot 2.0 (reactive) and OpenAPI/Swagger
- Apply Test Driven Development (TDD) practices and participate in peer and architecture code reviews
- Design database schemas, optimize indexes, and tune queries
- Work with messaging systems such as Kafka and MQ
- Leverage cloud-native tooling including Docker, Kubernetes, Jaeger, and Prometheus
- Java 11 - Lambdas, Streams, Completable Future, Optional, Generics
- Spring Boot (WebFlux, Reactor 3), Spring Data, REST
- Java functional and reactive programming
- Asynchronous reactive microservices using Vert.x
- OpenAPI (Swagger) specification
- NoSQL database design and query optimization
- Messaging systems: Kafka, MQ
- Modern engineering tools: Git workflows, Gradle, load testing tools, mock frameworks
- Cloud technologies: Docker, Kubernetes, Jaeger, Prometheus
- Java certification
