About the Role

The Company is seeking a Senior Executive Director of Philanthropy for the College of Aviation. This key role is pivotal in the launch of the Centennial Campaign, with a focus on major gifts and the advancement of aerospace education. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of individual, corporate, and foundation prospects, with the goal of closing over $3 million annually in philanthropic support. This includes all aspects of the fundraising process, from discovery to stewardship, and requires a proven track record in securing major gifts. The role also involves serving as a unit liaison, coordinating development activities, and building effective relationships with the College's administrators, faculty, and staff. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of full-time fundraising experience, with a strong preference for those holding a Master's degree. The ideal candidate will have a background in higher education, a complex healthcare system, or a large nonprofit organization, and be adept at managing multiple priorities and donor relationships. Experience with Salesforce or a comparable donor relationship management application is essential. The role demands a leader who can translate complex scientific concepts into compelling, donor-friendly language, and who is comfortable working with high-net-worth individuals. Staff management experience and a basic knowledge of planned giving are also desirable.
