Application deadline:Location: Madison 07940, New Jersey, United States Contract type: Permanent Job ID: 4851 Role DescriptionAssociate Director - Supply Chain - Pharma Commercial - USRoles & ResponsibilitiesStrategic Planning & ExecutionDevelop and lead the US Supply Chain strategy to support profitable growth, new asset launches, and a growing rare disease portfolio.Design launch supply strategies that support commercial objectives, patient access, and continuity of care.Drive portfolio optimization, network design, SKU lifecycle management, and distribution model evolution.Improve forecast accuracy and planning discipline across the portfolio.Launch Excellence & Rare Disease ReadinessOwn end-to-end US launch readiness for new products (including rare disease) from pre-launch through post-launch stabilization.Establish launch stage gates, risk registers, and cross-functional review forums.Define launch inventory strategies: safety stock, MOQ, shelf-life, stock build, and allocation logic.Develop fit-for-purpose supply approaches for rare disease and specialty brands, accounting for low-volume demand, patient-specific fulfillment, and controlled distribution.Distribution Strategy & Channel ManagementRecommend optimal US distribution models (wholesale, specialty distributor, specialty pharmacy, limited distribution, direct-to-provider) for each product.Partner with Trade, Market Access, Commercial, and Patient Services to align distribution with reimbursement, channel economics, and service-level expectations.Monitor service levels, inventory visibility, and operating costs across all distribution partners; secure budget adherence.Ensure distribution network readiness for launches, product changes, and portfolio evolution.OperationsCoordinate orders and shipments with production sites and global distribution, ensuring valid and timely supply/demand control.Enforce inventory policy, forecast accuracy objectives, and proactive out-of-stock mitigation.Act as the primary interface between Supply Chain, distributors, Commercial, Regulatory, Quality, Serialization, and HQ.Risk ManagementIdentify supply chain, launch, and distribution risks; develop mitigation strategies for business continuity.Lead scenario planning for supply disruption, demand shifts, shelf-life constraints, and distribution partner performance.Compliance & SustainabilityEnsure compliance with GMP, serialization, trade compliance, and authority reporting requirements.Support sustainability initiatives including recycling, waste reduction, and process efficiency improvements.OtherCoordinate with Regulatory, Quality, Patient Solutions, and Brand Managers on launches, variations, and re-registrations.Support Global Product Supply Management with ad hoc reporting and business insights.Your ProfileEducation & ExperienceGraduate degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Logistics, Business, or related discipline.Approximately 10 years of relevant supply chain experience with strong process expertise and business acumen.Pharmaceutical industry experience strongly preferred, including US regulations and commercial distribution models.Experience supporting product launches and managing complex distribution networks (specialty and/or rare disease preferred).Proficiency in SAP and IBP required.Skills & CompetenciesStrong influencing and stakeholder management skills across functions.Strategic thinking with ability to prioritize and align initiatives to business goals.Advanced analytical capability — quantitative evaluation of trends, inconsistencies, and business impacts.Financial literacy: budget management, financial analysis, and KPI-based performance tracking.Deep understanding of end-to-end supply chain, trade processes, launch planning, and patient-centric distribution.Highly effective communication skills (presentations, written, verbal).Collaborative, enterprise-minded problem solver with high ownership and accountability.Continuous improvement mindset; ability to constructively challenge existing processes.Comfortable navigating ambiguity and leading through change in a dynamic environment.Beyond the skinJoin LEO Pharma, a global leader in medical dermatology, as we go beyond the skin to make a lasting impact.
