Job Summary The Application Engineer (AE) supports CECO Environmental’s Industrial Water (IW) platform and market segment expansion in the Americas. This role is responsible for solution development and proposals of products and services, including components, standard systems and custom integrated systems, and field services for industrial water and wastewater treatment requirements. Responsibilities Provides technical support to business development, sales and customers; deploys our strategy and creates proposals. Collaborates to deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals, bookings and margins. Interprets technical specifications and bid documents and prepares proposals and responses to maximise opportunity capture. Creates and develops RO, instrumentation and control designs according to specified projects and custom systems. Develops cost‑effective solutions and works with Supply Chain. Prepares water mass balance and system performance projections. Works with Drafting to prepare Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), General Arrangements (GAs), equipment layouts, and other drawings supporting the proposal process and post‑award engineering submittals. Prepares detailed cost estimates and project cost‑price models to determine project pricing. Develops technical, commercial and legal proposals, including process description, work scope, equipment list and performance guarantees. Provides support to project management, purchasing, production, engineering and drafting teams post‑award, including system production, installation, startup, commissioning, operations, performance testing and warranty claims. Builds and maintains strong industry relationships with end users, EPCs and engineering consultants. Manages data and communicates activities and results to collaborate with the global sales team effectively. Performs other duties of similar nature and level as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Chemical/Mechanical/Process Engineering or equivalent experience. 4+ years of experience in application engineering and proposals for custom integrated industrial water and wastewater treatment systems. Experience in modelling influent water analysis and effluent water quality requirements to meet CapEx and OpEx goals. Knowledge of technical, commercial and legal principles related to proposals, costing, pricing and contract negotiations. Travel Requirements Expected travel up to 25% of the time; preference for international travel. ADA Requirements Concentrated mental and/or visual attention; complex tasks requiring high accuracy. Typically performed under comfortable working conditions with no disagreeable elements. Compliance with company attendance standards. Prolonged periods standing, sitting and working on a computer. Warehouse environment, climate control and ability to move around. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
