Surgical Technologist – Travel Contract

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Days | Full-Time | Onsite | Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM | 8-hour shifts

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain the sterile surgical field, collaborating with nurses and physicians and assisting where required
• Anticipate and hand necessary instruments and supplies to the surgeon during procedures to ensure efficient workflow
• Assemble, transport, and retrieve surgical equipment, ensuring all pieces are accounted for upon leaving the operating room
• Keep all needed surgical supplies at the ready, including sterile linens, saline, lights, and suction machines
• Inspect, maintain, decontaminate, and repair surgical equipment, keeping inventory records current
• Conduct pre- and post-surgery patient care, including patient transport, prepping, and applying dressings

Required Qualifications

• Active NBSTSA (CST) certification required
• BLS certification required — must be issued through the American Heart Association
• Minimum of 3 years of recent experience as a Surgical Technologist in a hospital setting
• Experience in an operating room environment, including scrubbing for surgical procedures

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel contract experience in a surgical technologist role
• Experience working in a community hospital or rural acute care setting
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems used in a surgical environment
