Human Resources Generalist

International Wire is hiring a Human Resources Generalist to support IWG operations in Camden, NY (onsite). This role partners closely with the HR Team to help ensure smooth people operations across employee relations, hiring, onboarding, benefits, and employment law compliance. Experience level: 1+ year. Education: bachelor’s degree in human resources management. What you’ll do Support the talent acquisition process for all nonexempt personnel , students/interns , and temporary employees , including writing and placing job advertisements. Oversee site-level onboarding , educating newly hired employees on HR policies, benefits, internal procedures, and applicable regulations. Administer stay and exit interviews to gather insights from employees. Maintain headcount and staff reporting for all IWG EW employees. Use HR software regularly to support payroll and employee benefits . Ensure physical and digital employee files are maintained properly for documents, benefits, and attendance records in compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations. Serve as a point of contact for HR-related issues, preparing official internal documents as needed. Help develop and implement employee recognition and retention programs , including employee events and engagement surveys. Prepare and present HR data and key metrics to support business decisions. Assist with and participate in the safety program . Communicate daily with the HR Director to help ensure objectives are met, and support company policies and procedures as applicable. Perform other duties as assigned , while maintaining a positive and supportive attitude. What you’ll bring Bachelor’s degree in human resources management with 1-3 years of HR experience , preferably in a manufacturing environment . Strong written and verbal communication , strong organizational skills, and relationship management that is client-driven. Knowledge of HR principles and employment laws . Ability to manage time-sensitive tasks. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with an automated HRIS system . Initiative-taking and self-directed approach, along with excellent interpersonal skills. High level of discretion and professionalism . Working conditions Standard office working conditions, with the ability to navigate the manufacturing space . Local travel between plants is required.
