Receptionist

Job Location: SEATTLE, WA 98102 Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $30.00 - $33.40/hour (guaranteed 40 hours/week) Job Category: Admin - Clerical Role Overview The Receptionist and Assistant to the Dean provides administrative support to the Dean of Students, manages daily student attendance, and oversees the main office operations. Essential Functions Maintain a physical presence in the office and provide a welcoming environment for all visitors. Serve as the first point of contact, monitor the entry system, greet visitors, answer inquiries, and direct them to appropriate staff. Oversee the student attendance process: perform all attendance duties, receive inbound phone calls about attendance, maintain attendance records, track absence communications, and address unexcused absences or inaccuracies. Handle record keeping of school forms (immunization, accident reports, consent, liability waivers) and manage sensitive confidential student information. Communicate daily with students, parents, faculty, and staff regarding attendance and related issues. Answer calls to the school, transfer calls, and take messages. Receive deliveries, mail, supplies, and messages; disseminate materials to appropriate parties. Manage drop-offs of items from parents/community; oversee Sick Room and Lost and Found. Act as Attendance & Communications Lead during school-wide evacuations. Administer ASB replacement cards and access card replacements in coordination with the Dean of Students. Report statistics and health records to OSPI in accordance with state laws. Provide additional administrative support to the Dean of Students as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent and two or more years of administrative, office coordination, or customer service experience, preferably in an educational environment. Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, databases, and office technology. All employees must complete a criminal history background check and safe environment training upon hire and every 3 years. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a high school or with youth. Familiarity with the Veracross database. Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team culture. Compensation & Benefits Hourly rate of $30.00 - $33.40 based on skills and qualifications, guaranteed 40 hours per week. $20,100 annual benefits allowance for medical, dental, vision, life, disability insurance, and flexible spending account. Employer contribution of 2.5% of salary to a 403(b) retirement plan and match of an additional 2.5% of employee contributions.
