Also responsible for monitoring quality of reagents and working condition of instruments. Essential Functions: Receives specimens from phlebotomists and couriers. May operate a delivery van to bring the mobile lab to an area of high volume of STAT testing when applicable. Enters patient demographics and test orders into lab information system. Checks the quality control of each test prior to running and reporting patient results. Ensures QC is within appropriate limits and brings problems to a supervisor/manager in real time. Performs lab testing in the areas of point of care which may include Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Molecular and Coagulation. Data entry of test results. Confirms abnormal results prior to releasing and bring any rare and improbable test results to the attention of a supervisor/manager. Requirements: Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and ability to drive safely. [REQUIRED] Familiarity with lab process and workflow. [REQUIRED] Previous experience with phlebotomy and laboratory testing preferred. [PREFERRED] High school degree or equivalent. [REQUIRED] Any certification/licensure needed per state requirements. [REQUIRED] State of California only – qualify as testing personnel for waived testing, a minimum of licensed medical laboratory technician or licensed vocation nurse. [REQUIRED] Excellent verbal and written communication skills. [PREFERRED] Detail oriented and organizational skills.[PREFERRED] Exercises accuracy and precision in completion of prescribed tasks and treatments. [PREFERRED] Vaccination against COVID-19 is a requirement for all individuals. Alternatively, those seeking an exemption must submit proper documentation supporting their request.
