Since 2001, we've placed millions of books into the hands and homes of children across Nevada's most underserved communities - inspiring a lifelong love of learning and brighter academic futures.Position Summary The Program Facilitator assists with all aspects of preparing books for distribution, book cleanings, and off-site programming. Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesFacilitate book cleaning eventsFacilitate and lead off-site programs, including Breakfast/Snack Time with Books and Readers in TrainingInteract with volunteersAssist with community outreach by operating our information tables at special eventsAssist with book inventory and cycle countsAssist with the incoming and outgoing processing of booksAssist with communication with School LiaisonsBox, sort, and count books for distributionComplete monthly book deliveries to schoolsSpeak in front of groups of peopleOther duties may be assigned to the Director of Northern Nevada's discretion related to the fundamental aspects of the Program Facilitator or relatedEducation and/or Experience RequirementsHigh school diploma requiredExperience working with children and families preferredGeneral RequirementsFamiliarity with children's literature a plusEffective in providing instruction to large groups of peopleMust be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and CanvaMust possess proficient ability to communicate in English in oral and written formatsUse of a reliable personal vehicle, valid auto insurance, and a valid driver's licenseMust be able to drive the Company Vehicle (van, truck).Must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment background checkMay be required to work evenings and weekends on occasionAbility to Comply with the Company Drug and Alcohol Policy as a requirement of a position that could adversely affect the safety of others.Bilingual in Spanish is highly preferredCertificates, Licenses, Registrations Valid Nevada State Drivers' License, proof of current automobile insurance, and automobile registrationPersonal Characteristics Below are some of the qualities a Program Coordinator will exhibit:Outgoing, positive, and energeticAbility to work with a variety of personalitiesAbility to work independentlyStrong verbal communication skillsStrong organizational skillsTeam playerDedication to providing excellent service to the participating program families and children Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentThe physical demands described here are those an employee must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand frequently; walk frequently; sit; use hands and fingers to point, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear. The employee is required to lift up to 35 pounds. The vision requirements include close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to drive a vehicle.Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to excessive heat, wet, and/or humid outside conditions.
