BEHAVIOR SUPPORT WORKER – SCHOOL AGE PROGRAM!

The Role: Behavior Support Worker's in the School Age Program are creative, energetic, career-oriented teaching professionals who are motivated to educate individuals with developmental disabilities in an ungraded self-contained classroom. Behavior Support Workers are offered on-going trainings and support provided by board certified behavior analysts and other qualified professionals to enhance and maximize career growth. Our school programs operate on a 12-month calendar. See full job description for qualifications and responsibilities. What You Bring to Brightway Living & Learning: * Must possess a BA Degree in Psychology, or related area. If BA is in an unrelated area, must hold a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification. * Must have at least 1 year experience with individuals with Autism or developmental disability. * Must possess in-depth knowledge, experience and skill with Applied Behavior Analysis, and Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support. * SCIP Certification is required. (Will be permitted to obtain within 2 months of hire). What You'll Do: * Instructs and directs classroom staff on receiving and recording student goals information. * Analyzes student information to ensure conformity with Behavior Support Plan. * Effectively recommend improvements in process and counseling / disciplinary action for improper data collection by classroom staff. * Assesses and trains classroom staff on the implementation of the Behavior Support Plan. * Develops and monitors behavior programs in collaboration with behavior specialists. * Provides behavior support and crisis intervention for students on their caseload (about 18 students) or as needed. * Assigns behavior-related tasks and activities for students to classroom staff as needed. * Knowledgeable of a secondary caseload to facilitate collaboration and provide coverage for other Behavior Support Staff. Assesses the behaviors of students identified as having behavioral difficulties and counsels/trains classroom staff on effective behavioral management.- Provides quality assurance for the integrity of the Behavior Support Plan.
