Training Monday-Friday from 12am-7am about 6-8 weeks./ppThe Target Pay for this position is $22.12 an hour. At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget./ph3Job Purpose/Overview/h3pSpecimen Processors are responsible for receiving, preparing, and processing most samples that come into the department./ph3Essential Duties and Responsibilities/h3ulliReceives and prepares samples for laboratory analyses./liliAccurately process standard requisitions per approved procedures at expected rates./liliRemoves specimens from transport bags, enter patient data, label samples and aliquot as needed for multiple testing/liliKeep inventory of samples after testing has been completed by scanning into storage racks. Search lab for any samples not scanned into storage racks./liliSort samples for distribution throughout the lab (Coggins, cytology, etc.)./liliScan tubes into storage racks and enter specimen data into database to verify the accuracy of information/liliAccession various sample types for processing/liliCheck all trash containers within the Specimen Processing department when assigned/liliAssists other lab personnel with specimen storage/liliEnsure Turn Around Times (TATs) are met/liliFollows applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including safety and quality procedures. Maintains clean and organized work area. Antech Diagnostics has several processes in place to communicate with leadership and expects that Associates will have a commitment to integrity and uncompromising values./ph3Education and Experience/h3ulliHigh school diploma or equivalent required, with science related classes/lili0-1 years related work experience preferred/li/ulh3Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities/h3ulliAttention to detail and organized with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment/liliReasoning and analytical skills to resolve issues/liliCommunication skills, both verbal and written/liliProficiency in the English language which allows for participation in team meetings, accurate entry of data into company systems and understanding of written directions/liliPositive, can-do attitude/liliData Entry skills/liliPersonal computer skills, including strong typing ability and proficient use of Microsoft Office/li/ulh3Working Conditions/h3ulliStationary Position- must be able to remain in a stationary position for up to 2 hours./liliConstantly operates a computer and other lab equipment accurately and efficiently./liliOccasionally required to bend, kneel, stoop, or crouch/liliRequired to lift, move, and carry up to 50 lbs./liliExtended hours may be needed/liliLaboratory environments with potential biohazards present that are mitigated by the mandatory use of PPE/liliWork under close to moderate supervision./liliPotential for exposure to agents known to cause zoonotic disease in humans and use of potentially hazardous chemicals as defined by the National Hazard Communication Standards.
