Custodian Job Description Responsibilities Cleaning and Sanitation: Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming floors, dusting furniture, cleaning windows, and sanitizing restrooms to maintain hygiene standards. Trash and Recycling Management: Emptying trash bins, washing containers, and attending to recycling procedures. Minor Maintenance: Replacing light bulbs, fixing leaky faucets, repairing broken doors or furniture, and performing basic upkeep of building systems. Groundskeeping: Mowing lawns, trimming trees and flowers, raking leaves, and keeping sidewalks clean. Safety and Security: Inspecting fire alarms, smoke detectors, and HVAC systems, securing doors, and sometimes opening or closing buildings. Event Support: Assisting with setting up facilities for meetings, classes, or events. Skills and Qualifications Physical stamina and strength to handle long hours of standing, lifting, and repetitive tasks. Attention to detail and diligence to ensure thorough cleaning and maintenance.
