Purpose: Work within Paramedic scope of practice Perform telephone triage as needed Function as part of an interdisciplinary team Take complete, accurate messages from patients and relaying them to appropriate physician Use critical thinking skills in assessing patient needs and planning appropriate follow‑up/intervention Document assessment and interventions thoroughly and concisely Use computer system efficiently and accurately Perform specialty procedures as trained, as well as assisting M.D. with patients in office to include but is not limited to: IV insertion and hydration therapy Administer oral and IV push medications Administer breathing treatments Wound care Assist with cardiac interventions Orthopedic care to include assessment and splinting Take thorough and accurate intake on patients Specimen collection and processing Run lab equipment for specimens and quality control Use EMR to document assessment and treatments Always ensure patient safety and wellbeing Work within department protocols Work within scope of practice at all times Other Duties: As assigned by RN, Clinical Coordinator or Medical Provider QUALIFICATIONS Required: Current EMT‑P Certification in good standing with NCOEMS Preferred: 5+ years’ experience in the field as paramedic Wilmington Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to providing equal opportunities to all applicants and employees.
