Job Title: Registered Nurse

Description:
The RN partners with residents and other care providers to create a safe and comfortable therapeutic environment by providing direct and indirect care.


Units include specialized units working with Alzheimer's and dementia residents, and tailoring care to meet their needs.


Key aspects of this unit are the use of both verbal and non-verbal communication techniques, understanding the difficult behaviors associated with residents with Alzheimer's and Dementia, as well as recognizing that these behaviors can be valid communications.


It provides needed care to residents requiring long-term placement in a home-like environment.


The Transitional Rehabilitation Unit provides short-term nursing and rehab services to patients recovering from fractures, joint replacements, back surgery, stroke, and other illnesses or injuries where a rehab approach might be beneficial.


Nursing services often include IV therapy, wound care, and geriatric assessment and management.


There is a long-term care unit that provides necessary care for residents needing long-term placement in a home-like environment.


Strong teamwork and communication skills are required.


The ability to work well within a team of other care providers is essential.


Flexibility is required to cover shifts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.


The ability to float to other units as needed is also necessary.


An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.
