About the Role As the first point of contact for most clients, Tellers play a key role in delivering on the bank’s Breakthrough Client Service Standards. With guidance from the Branch Manager and Assistant Branch Manager, the primary responsibility is to ensure banking transactions are performed accurately, ethically, and in compliance with Columbia Bank procedures and banking regulations. The role also involves maintaining and enhancing client relationships through meaningful conversations that uncover client needs and identify opportunities to provide additional bank products and services. Tellers perform teller transactions and cash handling functions for clients with accuracy and confidentiality, including deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, payments, transfers, check cashing, and balancing the cash drawer. They support daily tasks that maintain branch integrity, such as double custody of the ATM, processing night drop deposits, balancing negotiable instruments, processing returned mail, balancing the credit card machine, and updating lobby rate sheets and brochures. They mitigate risk by ensuring safekeeping of money in the cash drawer and prompt accounting or transfer of funds. Responsibilities Ensure accurate and ethical banking transactions. Mitigate risk and maintain cash drawer security. Interact with internal and external clients providing proactive solutions. About You High School Diploma or GED required. 1 year of previous banking or customer service experience preferred. Bilingual preferred. Ability to learn and comply with all Bank policies, procedures, and systems. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy with numbers, words, and instructions.
