Veterinarian Technician

The Veterinarian Technician will play a critical role in supporting a small animal clinic by providing comprehensive medical assistance and animal care. This position involves performing a range of duties independently during standard business hours while contributing to patient monitoring, surgical support, and client communications. The clinic supports ongoing professional development and offers financial assistance for certification programs.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct animal care and support in a small animal clinic setting
- Assist veterinarians during medical procedures and surgeries
- Conduct laboratory testing and sample collection
- Monitor patient vital signs and recovery progress
- Maintain accurate medical records for each patient
- Communicate effectively with clients about animal care and treatment plans
- Ensure sterilization and proper maintenance of medical equipment
- Administer medications as prescribed
- Respond promptly to emergencies and provide critical support
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Veterinary Technology
- Minimum of 1 year experience in veterinary technology
Preferred Qualifications
- Veterinary Technician License (LVT)
- Proficiency in animal handling and phlebotomy
- Experience with anesthesia monitoring and surgical assistance
- Strong laboratory skills and record management capabilities
- Effective client communication and medication administration skills
- Capability to respond to emergency situations promptly
