Environmental ManagerThe Environmental Manager will lead and oversee the environmental management practices and compliance of our construction operations. The Environmental Manager will focus on electrical utilities and construction, working to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, managing environmental aspects of projects, and developing and implementing environmental programs. This will include tasks such as providing environmental training, evaluating proposed construction activities for environmental impacts in consultation with the utility, liaison with utility environmental staff and environmental consultants and promoting a culture of environmental responsibility.Established in 1891, The L.E. Comprised of long- and short-tenured employees, we are interactive amongst our growing family of subsidiaries, which allows employees to participate in clean energy projects, as well as complete our long-time transmission and distribution projects.Essential FunctionsCompliance & Regulation: Ensure adherence to environmental laws, regulations, and standards at the local, state and federal levelsFunction as a principal technical advisor and coordinator for environmental issuesProgram Development & Implementation: Create and execute environmental management programs, policies, and proceduresEnvironmental Audits & Assessments: Conduct regular audits to identify and address potential environmental risks and areas for improvementInterpret and apply environmental specifications and drawings, avoiding and minimizing adverse effects to the natural environment and local communitiesSustainability Initiatives: Develop and implement strategies to promote sustainable practices, resource conservation, and waste reductionTraining & Education: Provide environmental training to employees and stakeholders to foster a culture of environmental responsibilityCommunication & Reporting: Effectively communicate environmental performance, risks, and initiatives to relevant stakeholdersPreparing projects requires reports and communication of environmental risks to project managementTeam Management: Supervise and lead environmental teams or personnel, providing guidance and supportLiaison & Coordination: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and consultantsAttend field visits with the client and regulatory agenciesLiaise with the client, providing them with design information, schedule details, quantities etc. ensuring they are aware of any unanticipated discoveries, critical permitting, and compliance issuesMay work at various field locations where conditions may varyRegular and predictable attendanceOther duties as assignedEssential functions of this position are to be performed at a company-designated office or field locationUnderstand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and other industry-specific professional and ethical standardsAbout YouQualificationsMinimum 5 years of experience managing environmental compliance for construction projectsMinimum 3 years of experience with permitting and agency coordinationUtility electric construction experience preferredHands-on experience with environmental permitting processesPreferred EducationBachelor's degree in an environmental sciences, health or engineering fieldKnowledge/Skills/AbilitiesAdvanced knowledge and understanding of environmental science, engineering, and related fieldsWorking knowledge of SWPPP, BMPs and erosion control measuresSolid understanding of relevant federal, state, and local environmental regulationsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAdvanced analytical and problem-solving skills for reporting, training, and stakeholder engagementAbility to identify, assess, and resolve environmental issuesCommunicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environmentAbility to plan, organize, and manage environmental projects effectivelyAbility to lead and motivate teams, foster collaboration, and drive environmental performanceAbility to perform work safely and effectivelyWhat We OfferCompensation & BenefitsSalary $100,000-$130,000 / yearCommensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith.
