Middle School Science Teacher (2026-2027 School Year) Starting Date: Aug 3, 2026 Job Description Position Title: Middle School Science Teacher Qualifications: Valid Arkansas 4-8 science or K-6 license teaching certificate Job Goals: Implement the educational program for students Performance Responsibilities Diagnose the achievement level of each student Plan, prescribe and direct learning activities Motivate students to learn Create and maintain an atmosphere conducive to learning at instructional stations and activities Evaluate progress of students and inform them continuously Assist with counseling for academic, personal, social, and career improvement Implement school or district curricular goals Ensure that substitutes have information for effective instruction Prepare and follow effective lesson plans Assist in developing school and district curricula Assist in assessing school and district needs for instructional materials and equipment Prepare for principal lists of material and equipment needs Inform students of relevant regulations Confer with parents on students’ progress and attitudes Supervise students in corridors, rest rooms, lunchrooms, school grounds, etc. according to board policy Assist in enforcement of school regulations Participate in all prescribed in‑service programs Maintain records for pupil accounting, progress, inventories, collection of money Check attendance and report absences and tardies Support clubs and activities equitably Take responsibility for issued materials and equipment Know board of education policies, desegregation plan, district and school guidelines and regulations Supervise early and late bus students Attend faculty meetings Participate in professional activities related to subject area Keep informed of latest curriculum developments Other duties as assigned Terms of Employment Salary Range: Teacher Salary Schedule; placement depends on education and experience Length of Contract: 190 days per contract year Benefits: Eligible Evaluation Performance will be evaluated in accordance with board policy on Evaluation of Certified Personnel EEO Statement PCSSD does not discriminate on the basis of age, disability, race, color, national origin, or gender in any service, program, or activity (including in admission, access, treatment, employment, or vocational opportunities).
