The Assistant Branch Manager assists in the leadership of the operations and personnel of the branch to ensure exceptional member service experiences while achieving the branch goals. Location Mesa Power Road Branch, 4917 S. Power Road, Mesa, AZ 85212 Schedule Full Time; Monday – Friday 8:45am – 6:15pm; Rotating Saturdays 8:45am – 2:15pm Compensation and Benefits Starting competitive pay that can increase based on experience Arizona branches receive a $2.00 location allowance Performance reviews with opportunities to increase compensation Excellent medical and dental benefits (minimal employee contribution for full‑time employees) Paid time off, volunteer time off, and paid holidays Matching 401(k) plan Tuition assistance Professional development opportunities Coaching & Development Responsibilities Exemplify MACU Way and Leadership Behaviors while fulfilling responsibilities as a leader Coach others to develop AAA skills and connect skill proficiency to production Drive accountability with team members around AAA and results Lead by example and support a branch culture of exceptional member service Solicit feedback regarding team culture and utilize MACU Mission, Vision, and Values to drive a unified team culture Hold personalized 1:1 sessions with each team member Use coaching tools to improve development activities beyond production and toward team member development Create individual development plans that include AAA skills and other development opportunities Evaluate direct report employees in quarterly check‑ins and annual Performance Evaluations; assist Branch Manager with MSR/MEO/FSR evaluations Support the Branch Manager with change management efforts and credit union priorities Train and coach branch staff on credit union policies, procedures, philosophies, and branch functions to encourage achievement of operational and sales goals Work with the Branch Manager to implement employee life‑cycle strategies (hiring, onboarding, development, retention) Member Experience Responsibilities Partner with Branch Manager to resolve member and employee concerns; follow up in a timely manner Support the Branch Manager in community development, acting as a credit union representative in the local community and meeting sponsor group needs Branch Operations Responsibilities Assist in daily operations of the branch, including cash management and compliance Effectively use proprietary sales tools (Member Value Review, Value Analyzer, New Account Framework) to maintain AAA standards Approve and deny loans; serve as back‑up for the Branch Manager for loan exceptions Create value‑based package solutions for members Develop methods to track and measure team productivity, accuracy, sales and service Gain knowledge of Credit Union Financials; use judgment to fulfill member needs according to policies Assist with security and maintenance of branch building and property Comply with all regulations (Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC, FACT Act, GLBA, Regulation CC, Regulation DD, etc.) as required Leadership Focus Coaches and develops branch team members to provide an exceptional Member Experience; partners with internal Business Partners to serve members; performs other duties as assigned. Experience 3+ years of financial industry experience, including 1+ year of lending experience. Education Two‑year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or equivalent. Licenses, Certificates, Registrations, Trainings Must meet all Branch Progression training expectations of all positions supervised Notary Public or ability to obtain one within first 90 days, where possible Qualify annually as a Mortgage Loan Originator under S.A.F.E Act Registration Computer/Office Equipment Skills Basic computer operating skills Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Symitar experience preferred Managerial Responsibility Supervisory/managerial responsibilities of direct or work‑leader group of 10 or more employees Estimate personnel needs and assign work Supervise, coordinate and review work of assigned staff Recommend candidates for employment, conduct performance evaluations, review salaries, and apply company policy Other Skills and Abilities Thorough knowledge and understanding of credit union policies and procedures; related experience in operations, lending, and sales Ability to make sound decisions based on credit union policies Ability to supervise, train, lead and coach others to provide quality service and sell credit union products Strong leadership skills with proven track record of preparing and mentoring new leaders Demonstrated success in handling difficult situations Physical Abilities / Working Conditions Must talk, hear, sit, use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms consistently Must stand, walk, kneel, and crouch occasionally Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less) Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more) Must lift up to 10 pounds consistently and up to 50 pounds occasionally Environmental No unusual environmental factors; moderate noise in business office with computers and printers, light traffic. Location Eligibility This position is not eligible for remote work or in‑person work in Colorado or Connecticut.
