Fire Sprinkler Designer Position Overview

Join us in building a next level design department, where you will lead the development of high quality, code compliant commercial Fire Sprinkler system designs. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape standards, drive innovation, and grow a department with your expertise at the forefront. You will lead our design efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fire protection codes, hydraulic calculations and CAD/BIM software. The Fire Sprinkler Designer will work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors and other partners to ensure all systems meet all NFPA standards and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities
· Apply fire protection codes and standards to the design of fire sprinkler systems, water supplies, pumps, standpipes, foam systems, and water storage tanks.
· Ensure all designs adhere to and comply with applicable codes (NFPA, Local/State Fire Codes, and local building codes).
· Ability to Read and interpret Architectural, Structural, and MEP blueprints/PDF’s, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
· Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to integrate fire protection systems into overall building designs.
· Conduct hydraulic calculations and system analyses to ensure effective fire protection solutions.
· Review and approve design drawings and specifications before submission to clients and regulatory authorities.
· Provide technical support and guidance to junior designers and project team members.
· Walk sites for site surveys where there may be long periods of standing as well as climbing and descending of ladders/steps
· Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in fire sprinkler design and safety.
· Prepare project documentation, including design reports, specifications, and compliance certifications. 

Qualifications
· High School Diploma or GED
· Active NICET 3, 4
· Proficient in NFPA code knowledge (13, 13D, 13R, 14, 20, 25 and associated Codes/Standards)
· Experience with design software such as HydraCAD, SprinkCAD, AutoSPRINK, and Revit
· Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications
· 5+ years fire sprinkler design
· Proven leadership experience

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $80,000-$110,000.00, depending on experience.
