Welder (Part-Time)

Position Details Part‑time, PERS eligible. Work schedule an average of 29 hours per week; hours may vary. No employer‑paid benefits other than PERS, wage increases, or union representation. External candidates start at first step of salary range. Responsibilities Under general supervision, performs skilled welding tasks involved in maintaining, repairing, modifying and fabricating equipment, vehicles, tools and machinery, and performs related duties as required. Requirements Graduation from high school, vocational school or equivalent. Five years of experience in welding and repairing equipment, vehicles, tools and machinery. Completed apprenticeship program as a welder may substitute for two years of experience. Equivalent combination of related education, experience, and training may be considered. Valid Nevada or “border state” driver’s license, as defined by NRS 483. Certification in welding through the American Welding Society (AWS) D1.1 specifications in TIG, MIG and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) to the 3G, 4G, 3F and 4F positions at time of application. Copy of American Welding Society (AWS) D1.1 specifications certificate for TIG, MIG and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) to the 3G, 4G, 3F and 4F positions.
