Registered Nurse Operating Room

Job Summary:

Responsibilities:

• 
  Assist in preparing the operating room and surgical instruments for procedures.
  
  
• 
  Scrub in and circulate during ophthalmology, ENT, and minor surgical cases, including cataracts and corneal transplants.
  
  
• 
  Respond to call shifts promptly, including weekday, weekend, and holiday rotations.
  
  
• 
  Adhere to unit-specific dress code and safety protocols to maintain a sterile environment.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with surgical teams and staff to ensure efficient workflow and patient care.
  
  
• 
  Complete hospital and department orientations, followed by staff-specific training in the surgical department.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Valid RN license from an accredited nursing program.
  
  
• 
  Minimum of 2 years of OR experience, specifically in ophthalmology procedures.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrated ability to independently perform cataract and corneal transplant surgeries.
  
  
• 
  Skilled in scrubbing and circulating ambulatory surgery procedures.
  
  
• 
  Ability to respond to call shifts within 30 minutes, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
  
  
• 
  Experience working in surgical units with floating requirements across departments.
