About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse to join a Telemetry team in Oxnard, CA. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring continuous cardiac and physiological monitoring.

The ideal candidate will have strong clinical assessment skills, telemetry experience, and the ability to recognize changes in patient condition and respond promptly. This position requires excellent teamwork, communication, and clinical judgment in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients throughout the shift.
• Perform comprehensive physical and clinical assessments.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, oxygen saturation, and other relevant clinical indicators.
• Recognize and respond appropriately to abnormal cardiac rhythms and changes in patient condition.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders and facility policies.
• Monitor patients receiving cardiac medications, anticoagulants, and other high-risk therapies.
• Assess and manage IV sites, central lines, drains, catheters, and other medical devices as applicable.
• Review laboratory and diagnostic results and communicate significant findings to the healthcare team.
• Assist with diagnostic procedures, treatments, and clinical interventions.
• Monitor patients for complications and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provide pain management and evaluate patient response to treatment.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Collaborate with physicians, CNAs, respiratory therapists, technicians, and other healthcare professionals.
• Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatments, disease management, safety, and discharge instructions.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, procedures, and discharge planning.
• Follow infection prevention, medication safety, patient identification, and fall prevention protocols.
• Respond appropriately to changes in patient condition and participate in emergency response when required.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Provide safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care in accordance with professional nursing standards.

Qualifications

• Current and active RN license eligible for practice in California.
• Minimum 2 years of recent Registered Nurse experience.
• Previous Telemetry or acute care experience required or strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation.
• Experience with medication administration and IV therapy.
• Ability to recognize and respond to changes in patient condition.
• Strong clinical judgment and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple patients and competing priorities effectively.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital environment.
• Willingness to work Night Shift on a 3×12 schedule.
• Required certifications should meet applicable facility requirements.
