Bring your dedication and passion for supporting students to a rewarding contract opportunity in a dynamic school environment! The ideal candidate will serve as a full-time paraprofessional, working one-on-one with a high school student who participates in the Life Skills program. You will play a vital role in helping maintain the student’s presence in the classroom and overall school building, making a significant impact on their daily experience.
Key Qualifications:
- Previous paraprofessional experience in schools highly preferred
- Strong comfort level and prior experience supporting students with significant behavioral needs
- Familiarity working with students on the autism spectrum
- Proactive, observant, and adaptable in managing changes in student routines
- Ability to remain calm and resourceful in challenging situations
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with teachers and staff
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide direct, attentive 1:1 support for a high school student within the Life Skills program
- Assist in implementing behavior management strategies and safety plans
- Support the student’s emotional, social, and academic growth within classroom and school routines
- Monitor and prevent elopement behaviors, ensuring student safety at all times
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to maintain consistent, effective interventions
- Promote inclusion and encourage positive peer interactions
This contract position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 35 hours per week, from approximately 7:15 am to 3:00 pm, with potential for future adjustments. You’ll be working the full academic year from August 21, 2026, through June 4, 2027.
