Make a real difference supporting students in kindergarten through 6th grade as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic educational setting. This contract opportunity offers a rewarding environment and the chance to positively shape young learners’ academic journeys.
Your primary responsibility will be managing a classroom with a caseload of approximately 15-18 students at a single school site. The typical schedule runs from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with some flexibility available to support work-life balance. The assignment is set to start in late August 2026 and conclude in May 2027, giving you the stability of a full school year experience.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education Degree
- Active applicable state license for Special Education teaching
- Demonstrated experience working with elementary-age students (K–6) preferred
- Strong ability to develop and modify IEPs
- Proven skills in classroom and behavior management
- Collaborative spirit to work with multidisciplinary teams and families
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and academic support tailored to students’ IEP goals
- Develop lesson plans and modify curriculum to meet diverse learning needs
- Assess student progress and maintain detailed educational records
- Collaborate with general education staff, therapists, and administrators
- Engage regularly with families to build strong school-home partnerships
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
