SCHOOL BUS DRIVER

2. Pass MDE Training Requirements

3. Successfully pass drug testing requirements

Reports To: Principal and/or Transportation Director

Job Goal:

To provide safe and efficient transportation so that the student may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district's curriculum and extracurricular program.

Performance Responsibilities:

Obeys all traffic laws.
Observes all mandatory safely regulations for school buses.
Maintains discipline when students are on bus.
Reports undisciplined students to the proper authority using appropriate school procedures/reporting procedures.
Keeps assigned bus clean.
Keep to assigned schedule.
Checks bus before each operation for mechanical defects.
Performs Pre- and Post-trip inspections of the bus.
Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness.
Discharges students only at authorized stops.
Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips.
Transports only authorized students.
Reports all accidents and completes required reports.
Enforces regulations against smoking and eating on the bus.
Attends staff development training as scheduled.
Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the principal and/or superintend may from time to time assign.

Terms of Employment:

180 days a year. Salary to be established by the Board.

Evaluation:

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
