About the Position

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Orangeburg, SC | Acute Care Hospital

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 3x12 Hours (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical Telemetry unit with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Perform continuous cardiac monitoring including interpretation of dysrhythmias using bedside monitors with telemetry, blood pressure, and pulse oximetry capabilities
• Float within scope to other units as needed to meet facility demands
• Participate in every other weekend rotation — this requirement is non-negotiable
• Document patient care and clinical assessments using Epic electronic health records
• Be prepared to support emergency response operations during hurricane season (June through November)

Required Qualifications

• Active South Carolina RN license or valid Compact RN license — must be in hand prior to start date
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical and/or Telemetry nursing
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Demonstrated experience with telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Must live more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible at the standard rate; local candidates within 60 miles will be considered

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a community hospital setting
• Familiarity with Epic charting system
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
