Communications Specialist

To protect and grow Coinbase's reputation, the full-time remote Communications Specialist will plan and execute proactive and reactive communications across various channels, manage media relations, and develop content aligned with the company's brand voice. Key responsibilities: Own proactive communications plans for product launches and company announcements, including messaging development and media outreach Drive media relations by responding to inquiries, pitching stories, and managing relationships with reporters in the crypto and mainstream press Lead rapid-response communications for crisis management, collaborating with Legal, Policy, and executive leadership to craft clear narratives Required qualifications: 7+ years of communications experience at a PR agency or in-house team, with at least 2 years in the crypto or fintech sector Proven media relations track record with established relationships in the crypto press and success in managing proactive and reactive communications Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a portfolio demonstrating the ability to convey complex topics clearly Direct experience in supporting executive communications, including media briefings and message development for senior leaders Ability to utilize generative AI responsibly for improving workflow efficiency while maintaining human oversight
