POSITION SUMMARY

The Facilities Maintenance Technician performs preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to support a safe, reliable, and compliant manufacturing environment. The position primarily supports facility systems and infrastructure while also providing maintenance support for production equipment and other operational needs as required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & DUTIES

INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on facility systems and equipment, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, compressed air, lighting, doors, docks, and other building systems.
• Perform general facility repairs, including drywall, FRP, painting, carpentry, ceiling tiles, flooring, doors, hardware, and other building finishes.
• Complete preventive maintenance inspections and scheduled maintenance on facility systems, support equipment, and other assigned equipment.
• Respond to assigned work orders and service requests in a timely manner and accurately document work performed within the CMMS.
• Identify and report facility or equipment deficiencies observed during routine work and complete assigned corrective actions within the scope of training and authorization.
• Perform electrical and plumbing troubleshooting and repairs within the employee's level of training and authorization.
• Maintain and troubleshoot facility support equipment, including air compressors, dryers, pumps, dock equipment, exhaust systems, and other utility equipment.
• Perform or assist with troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repairs of production equipment based on operational needs and assigned responsibilities.
• Support maintenance activities across Facilities and Production as needed to minimize equipment downtime and operational disruptions.
• Maintain exterior areas, maintenance workspaces, tools, equipment, mechanical spaces, electrical rooms, and storage areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
• Support contractor and vendor activities by providing facility access, communicating assigned work requirements, and assisting with coordination of maintenance and repair activities.
• Support facility improvements, equipment installations, and capital projects involving construction, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, utilities, production equipment, and infrastructure.
• Work collaboratively with Quality Assurance, Production, Safety, Maintenance, and other departments to support facility conditions, operational needs, and GMP requirements.
• Support internal, customer, regulatory, GMP, and third-party audit readiness by participating in inspections and completing assigned facility-related repairs, corrective actions, and documentation within established timelines.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, preventive maintenance documentation, and other required records to support maintenance activities, audits, and investigations.
• Identify and communicate parts, materials, tools, equipment, or outside services needed to complete assigned maintenance activities.
• Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), PPE, electrical safety, ladder/lift safety, and all other established safety procedures.
• Perform assigned work in accordance with applicable OSHA requirements, GMP requirements, company policies, and health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Respond to emergency maintenance needs and participate in after-hours or on-call support when required.
• Perform other maintenance, facility, production-support, and operational duties as assigned based on business needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE

Education:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical or vocational training in facilities maintenance, industrial maintenance, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or a related field preferred.
• 2-3 years of relevant facilities or maintenance experience preferred, including experience troubleshooting and repairing building systems and equipment.
• Equivalent combination of education, technical training, and relevant work experience may be considered.

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in facilities maintenance, industrial maintenance, or a related maintenance role preferred.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining building systems and facility equipment, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, compressed air, lighting, doors, and general building components.
• Experience performing general facility repairs such as drywall, painting, carpentry, flooring, ceiling tiles, FRP, and hardware preferred.
• Experience in a manufacturing, production, or GMP-regulated environment preferred.
• Experience supporting preventive maintenance programs and responding to corrective or emergency maintenance needs preferred.

Qualifications:

• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve facility and maintenance-related issues.
• Working knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance practices.
• Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
• Ability to read and follow work orders, equipment manuals, procedures, and safety requirements.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify facility deficiencies and complete repairs accurately.
• Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance requests and respond effectively to changing operational needs.
• Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use maintenance or work-order systems.
• Ability to follow applicable safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, reach, push, and pull for extended periods as required to perform maintenance activities.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, with assistance or appropriate equipment for heavier items.
• Ability to safely use ladders, stairs, hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
• Ability to work in confined or difficult-to-access areas as required for maintenance and repairs.
• Ability to perform work at varying heights when using approved ladders or equipment.
• Ability to perform repetitive movements and use hands and arms for handling tools, equipment, and materials.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Work is performed in a manufacturing and facility environment with exposure to noise, dust, airborne particles, varying temperatures, and other conditions associated with maintenance and production operations.
• May occasionally work in confined spaces, at heights, or in areas with limited accessibility.
• May be exposed to moving mechanical equipment and other maintenance-related hazards.
• Required personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn in designated areas and while performing applicable tasks.
• Work may occasionally require responding to maintenance needs outside of normal working hours.
